My dude from Dohh (The District of Hip Hop Ent. aka the company I'm Co-CEO of) just sent me over this interestin piece on myself that should help anyone who's not in the know get to know a lil bit more about me. Ever wondered what my name meant? How did I get my aliases? And more? This should be a good read for you then. How did Stones get his name?

Stones got his name from the alternative term used for Diamonds. He says he believes that he was put here on this earth to shine much like Diamonds but chose not to call himself "Diamond" due to it being what he describes as too feminine (which we agree with 100% Ha ha. Diamond? For a male hip hop artist? Now that's just weird Lol). He's also know for being able to touch on any and every subject matter in his music and has been quoted saying he has "no weakness" when it comes to writing so the name Stones also symbolizes his self proclaimed "flawless" style.


Stones use to be one half of a rap duo called Styxx n Stones. Even after he stopped recording music as a group he still used the name.

Stones is also an acronym for Simply The One N*ggas Envy is Stones

What about the aliases?

S.T. - When Stones begin rapping under his moniker he commonly referred to himself as S.T. Ones and as time went on it was shortened to simply "S.T.".

VVS Stones - VVS diamonds (aka Stones) are flawless and widely known as one of the best quality diamond known to man so Stones often refers to himself as VVS Stones implying that his style/music/etc. is flawless.

Cherokee Stones - Stones sometime adds Cherokee in front of his moniker because of his family's Cherokee native american heritage. He's been heard saying that his knowledge of famous outlaw Crawford Goldsby aka Cherokee Bill has lead to him occasionally adding Cherokee to his name.

S.T. Ones: Stands for Stack Them Ones.

The Great David Blake: Well, he's destined to be one of the musical greats and his given name is David Blake so, DUH!

Random Facts...

Stones and fellow Brooklyn emcee/Co-CEO of Duck Down Records, Kenyatta Blake bka Buckshot are 1st cousins. Stones' father and Buckshots father are brothers (it doesn't get any closer than that).

Stones started recording his 1st mixtape "The New Stone Age" in January of 2006 and released it in June of the same year at the age of 17. The mixtape featured numerous fan favorites like "Gotta Eat", "Do What You Do", "Front Back (Side 2 Side)", "Get Wit It" and "Pssss Can I Talk To You" as well as many more. It was produced entirely be Touch Not productions and released by I.H. Entertainment.

Stones and West Coast emcee/producer DJ Quik have the EXACT same first and last name, David Blake. (Think about it: What if Stones, Buckshot & DJ Quik were all... Nevermind *wishful thinkin* Lol).

Stones is a hard core Wu Tang Clan fan and sites Method Man as his favorite member of the group. He also says Meth played a big role along with his cousin Buckshot in his desire to want to pursue rap as a career.




Although its hard to trace back to when Stones actually wrote his 1st rhyme he says he wrote his first 16 bar structured verse at 9 years old.
